Van received her B.S. in Environmental Toxicology with an emphasis in Forensic Science from UC Davis. As an undergraduate, under the supervision of Dr. John Newman at the U.S. Department of Agriculture ARS Western Human Nutrition Research Center, Van assisted with the validation and development of a novel LC-MS/MS bioanalytical method for the analysis of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs in human sweat. Currently, Van is interested in developing methods for separating chiral drugs of abuse and determining their hallucinogenic potential.
