Monica Gonzalez
Postdoctoral Associate Monica attended California State University, Chico for her undergraduate studies and earned a B.S. in Chemistry and Biochemistry. Under the guidance of Professor Dave Ball, she worked on the synthesis of herbicide degradation products and the total synthesis of gallicynoic acids derived from mushrooms. Monica earned a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley. As a graduate student in Professor Evan Miller’s lab, she developed a near infrared fluorescent sensor of cellular membrane potential. At the University of California, Davis Monica is developing biological assays for the characterization of novel psychoactive compounds. |
