Charles Benson
Graduate Student Charles received his B.S. in chemistry from the University of Alaska where he worked under the supervision of Prof. Colin McGill establishing the neuroprotective and anti-leukemia activity of the Alaskan ethnobotanical Devil’s club. While at UAA, Charles also studied the restorative effects of the Alaskan bog blueberry on cognitive ability in a rat model of aging. Currently, Charles is interested in the indole alkaloid family of hallucinogens and their potential anti-addictive and psychotherapeutic applications. Awards NSF Graduate Fellowship |
